Aim for about 0.7–1 g of protein per lb of body weight. It keeps you full and helps your muscles recover. Think chicken, eggs, fish, Greek yogurt and legumes.
Don’t skip meals
Skipping meals often leads to overeating later. Eating every 3–4 hours keeps your energy steady and cravings low.
Half your plate = veg
Fill at least half your plate with colourful vegetables at lunch and supper for fibre, vitamins and minerals.
Hydrate first
Have a glass of water before each meal. Thirst can feel a lot like hunger, so staying hydrated helps cut unnecessary snacking.
Choose whole foods
The shorter the ingredient list, the better. Build most meals from whole foods and enjoy the rest: the 80/20 rule applies.
Sleep is nutrition too
Poor sleep can increase hunger and cravings. Aim for 7–9 hours a night. It’s one of the best things you can do for your goals.
